New Programme about Pregnancy Nightmares on ABC

My new documentary, about the phenomenon of nightmares during pregnancy, is now available online here.

‘Pregnancy is supposed to be all happiness and humming lullabies — well, that’s what society and advertisers tell us, but the reality for most women is very different. It is estimated one in five women suffer from tokophobia, a pathological fear of giving birth. Many expectant mothers also report an increase in nightmares and bad dreams; this programme looks at why this might be, and at the taboos and expectations surrounding pregnancy and childbirth.’
